The Wail of a Howl

Now that a couple of weekends and Thanksgiving 2006 have passed, I would like to continue on a post I made earlier. I mentioned that StomperNet in Atlanta was phenomenal and here is why I thought it was really worth it.

Andy Jenkins and Brad Fallon are and have been literally throwing value into their business venture. I can't give you specific details because of proprietary reasons, TOS, and things like that. But, numerous products selling for massive bucks on the Net are being given to the members of StomperNet for free. Members are gaining access to bleeding-edge technologies. And, experts from various Internet business fields are being brought into the group as instructors. It is just an amazing amount of value!

Sorry to say this, but membership into StomperNet has closed. However, you can still sign-up on their wait list and newsletter by clicking here.

A Special Message!

If we stop and think, each of us could find lots of things we should be thankful for. But besides being thankful, we should also practice being kind. We should exercise being kind to our children, to our neighbors, to man's best friend, and most importantly to ourselves.

Please allow me to wish all of you a very safe, special, and Happy Thanksgiving!

WolfDog Howl Newsletter vol. 2 issue 13

Apart from the basic needs for food and shelter, wolfdogs need social interaction, positive attention from their owners, exercise and mental stimulation. Many of these requirements can be met by simply taking your wolfdog for a walk. Walking your wolfdog daily provides it with attention from you. Perhaps more than anything, our pets simply want our company. Even when you remain home during the day, much of your time is spent doing chores rather than interacting with the family pet. So, be careful where you walk your wolfdog, keep it under control with a strong leash, and take along a plastic bag or a container and be sure to pick up after your pet.

A walk allows you to practice obedience skills with your wolfdog to increase the effectiveness of training. Performing basic commands also increases the benefits of a walk because your wolfdog is not simply wandering along, but is performing additional tasks. Taking your wolfdog for a walk provides mental stimulation through territorial investigation. With its nose to the ground and alert to the sights and sounds of the neighborhood, your wolfdog gathers information about how its territory has changed since the last walk.

Walking your wolfdog is one of the best ways to prevent undesired behavior problems. If you simply let your wolfdog out in the yard, you lose an opportunity to reinforce desirable behavior. Allowing a wolfdog to roam freely is dangerous both to the animal, other pets and people. It also gives the unsupervised wolfdog freedom to regress to unacceptable wild behavior. Daily walks may help prevent breakout problems, destructiveness, separation anxiety and other common behavior disorders. When your wolfdog obeys like you want, praise must be given immediately to be effective. Your wolfdog's life could depend on its obedience to your warnings.

If your wolfdog is skittish, gets in fights with other dogs, and is unruly around people and children, by all means find another way to exercise your pet. Or, take walks with your wolfdog away from people and other animals. Restricting some activity cannot be unkind in view of the possible consequences.

The Howlin continues...

I just returned from the StomperNet seminar in Atlanta this pass Nov. 11 & 12 weekend, and Oh my--what an event!

Just seeing Andy Jenkins get on a roll was worth the effort to go! Likewise, Brad Fallon was soaring high like the eagles.

It seems however, that both Brad and Andy believe in adding extra value into the StomperNet membership, and that's a good thing!

Now, just like everyone else, I've got a ton of things to do, and that's also a good thing.

So, I'd just like to say that, generally speaking, the whole weekend seminar was a phenomenal event. More on this to come....

The WolfDog Howl Newsletter vol. 2 issue 12

In this issue: Wolfdogs and Heartworms

The WolfDog Howl...
the Online Newsletter about Wolf Dogs
and the Internet.

It is important for your wolfdog's health to continue heartworm medication continuously month after month. The reason is because some parasites continue even during winter months. So, the easy thing is to just give them a monthly dose of heartworm medication--month after month--year after year.

You can cut back on flea and tick medication if there is snow for weeks on end, but keep up on the monthly heartworm treatments. Never stop these for the life of your wolfdog and you'll never be sorry you did.
